Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Surfboard ("Service"), operated by Jason Wise ("we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must not share your magic link login emails with others. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Transmit spam, malware, or harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute Service content without permission
• Interfere with the Service's operation

Subscriptions and Billing

Free plan: Available with limited features as described on our pricing page.

Paid plans: Billed monthly via Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. Prices may change with 30 days' notice.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal in Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods.

Downgrades: If you cancel or your payment fails, your account will be downgraded to the Free plan. Data exceeding Free plan limits may become inaccessible.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and content, is owned by Jason Wise. You retain ownership of the content you post (standup updates). By posting content, you grant us a limited license to store and display it to your team members.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or for any other reason with notice. You may stop using the Service at any time.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JASON WISE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ohio.

Changes

We may update these Terms. We will notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
