Jason Wise ("we", "us", or "our") operates Surfboard, available at dailywave.app ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information We Collect
Account information: When you sign up or are invited to a team, we collect your email address and name.
Usage data: We collect information about how you use the Service, including standup posts, team membership, and login activity.
Technical data: We automatically collect your browser timezone (used to send notifications at the right local time), IP address for rate limiting and security, and standard server logs.
Payment data: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details. Stripe may share your email address with us to confirm your subscription.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate and provide the Service
- To send you email notifications (daily standup digest, reminders, team updates) — you can unsubscribe at any time
- To send transactional emails (magic link login, team invitations)
- To enforce plan limits and process subscription changes
- To monitor for abuse and enforce our Terms of Service
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Turso — our database provider, for storing your account and standup data
- Resend — our email provider, for sending you emails
- Stripe — our payment processor, for handling subscriptions
- Sentry — our error monitoring service, which may receive technical error data
- Vercel — our hosting provider
All service providers are contractually required to protect your data.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you leave a team or delete your account, your data may remain in backups for up to 90 days before permanent deletion.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing jason@jasonwise.us. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have rights under CCPA. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie (sb_session) to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Security
We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Passwords are not used — authentication is via magic link email only. We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will notify you by email or by posting a notice in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
